On February 4, the Gates Foundation is set to open a $15 million visitor’s center. Located in Seattle, Washington, the installment houses five-galleries where visitors can learn about the work and mission of the Gates Foundation.
The center is also set to house educational and interactive installments to inform visitors about philanthropy and international development. The center will be open from 10 am – 5 pm Tuesday – Saturday and offers optional tours to visitors and groups.
The Gates Foundation, which works on homelessness in the US and agriculture, health, and education in the developing world, has been criticized for its lack of transparency in the past. This visitor center is possibly the first of many ways the foundation will address that criticism.
